Ray Cross Photography

The Photographer

Ray Cross is a Bloomington resident who was born and raised in Indiana. He first became interested in photography when he was a child, around 10 years old. His first camera was a Kodak 110 film camera. He enjoyed taking pictures of his family, pets, friends, etc.

Ray attended Bloomington High School South and was on the 98 Championship football team. After graduating High School he went to Ivy Tech State College and received an Associate Degree in Computer Networking. Although he really enjoyed working with computers he still had a strong desire to work in photography. Ray had a digital camera that he had continued to take pictures for family and friends. Ray decided to take his knowledge of computers and digital photography and do what he loves as a full time photographer. Ray’s style of photography is unique as he likes to capture pictures as they would really happen. He goes onsite to a convenient location for the customers and captures pictures in a setting that the subject is comfortable with. When taking pictures of children he spends time getting to know them and letting them get comfortable with their surroundings. There is never a rush to get the pictures done. The pictures he takes have a quality you cannot get in a typical studio.

Ray feels very blessed to be able to share his talent by  doing what he enjoys. The pictures he takes create a lifetime of memories for those having the pictures done.
